Over the past year the Glencoe & District Historical Society has supported the Your Wardsville community organization with the ability to use Google Workspace for non profits.  This generosity  has aided  Your Wardsville to have a web presence and virtual office.

Dear members of the Wardsville community,

We are thrilled to announce that the Strawberry Social Fundraiser organized by the Your Wardsville community organization was a tremendous success! We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to this fantastic event. Your support has made a significant impact on our community, and we are truly grateful.

More than 110 people joined us for an evening filled with the delightful flavors of Walch Family Strawberries, cake, and ice cream. We had an abundance of delicious treats, including 54 pints of berries, 15 cakes, and an 11L tub of scrumptious ice cream. Although the rain dampened the early part of the evening and affected some individuals' ability to attend, we were pleased with the turnout. We had prepared enough food for 200 guests, and we were glad to see that nothing went to waste.

Thanks to your generosity and support, the Strawberry Social Fundraiser raised approximately $700! This remarkable amount will be utilized to purchase "play" equipment for Little Kin Park, creating a safe and enjoyable space for our children. We would like to extend a special thank you to those who donated beyond the cost of a dessert. Your monetary contributions are truly appreciated and will have a lasting impact on our community.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who made this event possible. A big shout-out goes to our new Amish community members who went above and beyond to help. Several young volunteers dedicated their time to cap the berries with incredible speed, setting a record by capping 54 pints in just one hour! They also served cake and assisted with the clean-up at the end of the evening. Your dedication and hard work were truly commendable, and we are grateful for your invaluable contribution.

Furthermore, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the three firefighters who joined us and selflessly offered their assistance. Your presence and support made a significant difference in ensuring the event ran smoothly.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank the following individuals for their volunteering efforts: Greg Fuchs, Jackie Reavley, Sandy Purdy Woolsey, Deb Page-Sloetjes, Bev Corneil, Jason Fangard, Mary Simpson, Ross Snider, Ken Willis, and the SWM Parks and Rec staff. We hope we haven't missed anyone, but if we have, please accept our sincerest thanks for your contribution.

Once again, thank you to each and every one of you for your participation, generosity, and dedication to our community. Your continued support and active involvement make our endeavours successful, and we are truly grateful for all that you do.

 Little Kin Park Fund Raiser

Your Wardsville community organization is hosting a  Strawberry Social Fund Raiser. All proceeds are going to Little Kin Park.

Little Kin Park has been a central gathering spot for decades in Wardsville. Ageing infrastructure, ageing trees and lack of programming  have all led to the park not being used to its full capacity.

With a portion of Little Kin Park now designated as a sacred spot to honour the Anglican Church of Canada and cemetery, Little Kin Park needs to be "reimagined".

This takes money and a dedicated group of community members to see our little park become a focal area for Wardsville again. If you are interested in getting this project off the ground please fill in this form.

"This park property was once owned by the Anglican Church of Canada. In 1942 the Church Rectory and sheds were demolished. In 1946 the park property was purchased by the late James Little who gifted it to the Kinsmen Club of Wardsville for the purpose of this park"

Thank you to Creative-Communities for all your support and guidance.
