A Heartfelt Thank You for Joining Us at the Your Wardsville Block Party and "Float for Hope" Celebration!
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who braved the rain and wind to join us. Once the weather cleared, we enjoyed a truly wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, community spirit, and an amazing turnout. Watching our new playground come alive with children’s smiles and joy was absolutely heartwarming.
A special thank you to Rev. Deb Dolbear Van Bilsen for blessing our park, children, and families, and to Mayor Allan Mayhew for his heartfelt words about the new playground and youth development. We also want to give a huge shout-out to Kali Whittington, our brave Your Wardsville Youth Volunteer, for her inspiring courage on stage.
The Float for Hope celebration was a highlight of the day, with Mayor Mayhew and Kali Whittington kicking off an enchanting bubble celebration. We had bubble containers available for everyone who wanted to participate, along with a bubble machine that created a magical atmosphere. It was wonderful to see so many people joining in the fun and spreading joy with bubbles.
We were also honoured to have Deputy Mayor Scholdice, Councillors Choi and McGill, and our new CAO Amanda Gubbels in attendance. Your support means a lot to us.
Jim Kirkwood, thank you for capturing all the special moments at the photo booth, and Easy Mark, your performance was a hit—we can’t wait to have you back in 2025!
A huge thanks to the Glencoe District Lions Club for providing the fantastic “Family Friendly Food,” including the 100 lbs of fries that were a massive hit! Thanks to Mike and Grace at No Frills Glencoe for your incredible support, and to everyone who enjoyed the hot dogs and ice cream. And a big shout-out to Soupitch, and congratulations to Rob L from Newbury for winning the 2 pizzas generously donated.
We’re so thankful to our wonderful volunteers, families, and all the amazing guests who came from across Southwest Middlesex, neighbouring areas, and even as far as London. Your presence and energy made the day truly special.
A special thank you to Kevin Miller, Southwest Middlesex Manager of Community Service and Facilities, and his team for making Little Kin Park look fantastic!
Lastly, my deepest thanks go to the Your Wardsville Community Association for their tireless efforts in bringing our community together. Every event like this Block Party reminds us of the strength, warmth, and spirit of our community, Wardsville. If you’d like to join and make a difference, please reach out—we welcome everyone.
With unity comes community, and this year’s Block Party was a perfect example of that.
Thank you all for being part of this incredible day! Denise Corneil #withcommunitycomesunity #littlekinpark
